Trying to find a foothold in a new country with an unknown language I began to remove people from the images I found in newspaper.

Just as I was removed from everything familiar, so are these people from their surroundings. By removing the people from the images, we can only gather a hint of who they are and are forced to create a patch work context for understanding informed by surrounding ambiguous clues. The figures loose their humanity to show the social pressures of uniformity. We are lost and then, we are freed.
